Terms of use
hire-me.lol is a talent exchange and candidate leaderboard platform. An AI writes an audit about your public profile, and you can place bids to rank on a leaderboard for a role. Using the site means you accept what follows.
The two clauses people are surprised by. A bid is a cumulative top-up and non-refundable, including if you later remove your own listing. And any listing can be taken down at our discretion or on request from the person it describes — removal does not return the money.
1. What this site is and is not
Nothing on this site is employment advice, career coaching, legal counsel, or a promise of employment. The “AI audit” is an automated evaluation generated by AI based on public profile links. A high rank means you paid for visibility on that board; it does not mean we endorse you, and it does not mean anyone will hire you.
2. Who can use it
You must be at least 18 and able to enter a contract where you live. Listings must describe a real person. You may create a listing about yourself, and you may pay to raise any listing — including someone else’s. You may not create a listing that impersonates someone, and you may not create one about another person who has already asked to be removed.
3. What a bid buys
A bid buys one thing: a position in a public ordering. Highest bid ranks first. Ties break in favour of whoever paid first. The AI score has no effect on rank, ever.
- Minimum entry is $1.00. The maximum single bid is $10,000.00.
- Bids only go up. There is no mechanism — for you or for us — to lower one.
- A bid never expires and is not a subscription. There is nothing to renew and nothing to cancel.
- Your position is not exclusive or reserved. Anyone can outbid you at any time, and we owe you nothing when they do beyond the notification we send.
4. Payment, refunds and chargebacks
Payments are processed by Dodo Payments as merchant of record. Their terms govern the transaction itself, and your card details never reach our servers. You are charged the bid amount exactly; we add no fee of our own.
Bids are final and non-refundable. You are buying a position that is delivered immediately and publicly, and it cannot be given back. If a payment fails to register a bid because something on our side broke, that is different — tell us and we will either place the bid or refund it.
Filing a chargeback for a bid that was delivered will result in the listing being removed and the handle being blocked.
5. What you submit, and what we publish
You give us a name, a handle, optional links, and a line about what you’re looking for. By submitting them you confirm you have the right to publish them and you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to display, cache, and include them in share images and search results for as long as the listing is up.
Links are self-reported and shown as unverified. We do not check that an X or GitHub profile belongs to the person claiming it. Do not submit anything you would not want indexed by a search engine, and do not submit private information about yourself or anybody else — including contact details, health information, or anything about a protected characteristic.
The AI verdict is generated from what you submitted and belongs to the listing. You can edit your name, links and what you’re seeking through your manage link. You cannot edit your score or your verdict; if a verdict says something that should not be published about you, report it and a human will remove it.
6. Removal
Every listing carries a report button, and reports do not require an account. If a listing describes you and you want it gone, use the report button on the listing.
You can remove your own listings at any time from your manage link. Removal is not a refund, and your handle stays claimed so that nobody can take it and impersonate you afterwards.
We may also remove or hide any listing at our discretion — for abuse, impersonation, illegal content, payment fraud, or because we simply think it should not be on the site. We will not refund a bid on a listing removed for those reasons.
7. Things you must not do
- Impersonate a person or organisation, or list someone against their wishes.
- Submit content that is unlawful, harassing, defamatory, sexual, or that targets a person over a protected characteristic.
- Attempt to manipulate rank other than by bidding — no automation of checkout, no fraudulent payments, no exploiting a bug in the ranking or the webhook.
- Scrape the site at a volume that degrades it, or bypass rate limits. Reading pages normally, including with a search engine crawler, is fine.
- Use listings to build a database of people for unsolicited marketing.
- Attempt to extract prompts or credentials from the AI, or to make it produce content about a person that these terms prohibit.
8. Availability
The site is provided as-is and may be changed, interrupted, or discontinued at any time. Boards, roles, scores, and the design may change. If we shut the site down permanently, listings end with it and outstanding bids are not refunded — a bid buys a position on a site that exists today, not a promise about how long it will.
9. AI output
Verdicts are machine-generated and may be inaccurate, unfair, or simply wrong. They are not statements of fact about anybody, and they are not our opinion of anybody. When the AI is unavailable we generate a verdict from a local template instead, so a paid path never fails; those are even less about you than the AI ones.
10. Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost opportunities, lost employment, or reputational harm arising from your use of the site. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the total amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Nothing here limits liability for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
11. Indemnity
If a claim is brought against us because of content you submitted — a listing about someone else, a link you did not have the right to publish — you agree to cover the cost of dealing with it.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top changes when we do. Material changes will be noted on the site. Continuing to use hire-me.lol after a change means you accept the updated terms; the terms in force when a bid was placed are the ones that governed that bid.
13. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which hire-me.lol is established and operated, and any dispute will be heard by the courts of that jurisdiction. Nothing in this clause removes a consumer-protection right you have where you live.
14. Self-Serve Moderation & Management
Removal and editing requests are self-serve via the Manage console or the Report button on every candidate listing.
